Barcelona is the capital and the largest city in Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain, after Madrid. It's most famous landmark is La Sagrada Família. Construction of commenced in 1882 and despite it still not being complete is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Other sites include Parc Guell, Casa Mila, The Olympic Stadium, Parc Montjuic, the Nou Camp Stadium (home of Barcelona FC) and Las Ramblas, which is a cafe-lined street running from the port into the city centre.
Here a few of the top sights to see. Sagrada Familia by Antonio Gaudí, Address: Calle Mallorca, Ottos Top Tip: Book you tickets online to avoid the big queues!
A Giant Basilica designed by the master architect Antonio Gaudí. This building has been under construction since 1882 and they've still got another 30 to 80 years (depending on funding and resources) to go before it will be finished. Just imagine the dedication, devotion and commitment involved in creating a building for that length of time!
Some people love the Sagrada Familia and some people hate it but whatever you think I guarantee it will cause a reaction one way or the other.
Poble Espanyol de Montjuïc otherwise known as the Spanish Village. Address: Av Francesc Ferrer i Guardia, 13, 08038 Barcelon.
This Barcelona attraction is a small Spanish village with different quarters that replicate the style of houses and architecture from different parts of Spain.
Casa Mila by Antonio Gaudí, Address :La Pedrera Calle Provenca, 261 - 265.
Another one of Antonio Gaudí's creations once again hits the top 10 most visited attractions in Barcelona. This building used to be called Casa Mila but nowadays it's more commonly known as La Pedrera which means "quarry". Gaudí was instrumental in completing this building and his characteristic wavy brick work and colourful tiles are also evident on this masterpiece.
Las Ramblas - Barcelona's most famous Street
"It is the only street in the world which I wish would never end." La Rambla starts at Plaza Catalunya and ends at the Monument of Columbus at the Port Vell harbour of Barcelona. La Rambla it is not a spectacular sight, but very pleasant to stroll down and enjoy the human heartbeat of Barcelona.
Modernist Park Guell by Gaudi, Park Guell –Carrer Olot, 7, 08024, Barcelona.
Gaudi's modernist park on Carmel hill overlooking Barcelona. The 2014 ticket price is €7 if you buy a ticket in advance, or €8 at the park entrance. To ensure the preservation of the park there will be a limit of 800 visitors an hour so it's a very good idea to buy Park Guell tickets in advance.
Parc Guell by Antoni Gaudi. Parc Guelli is a UNESCO Worid Heritage Site and considered one of Gaudi's top works. Parc Guell is a top attraction and definite must see. It is on Carmel hill so seeing this attraction means some uphill walking. The original idea of Parc Guell was to build a private and exclusive residential garden city with 60 houses. This business plan failed due to lack of interest, and in 1923 the park was given to the city council and it became the public park we can see today. There is some uphill walking but it is definitely worth seeing. Visit by taking hop-on-hop-off tour buses or metro to station.
There are lots of other things to do, hey this is not a tour guide is a "Beer Guide"
So without more ado lets start with the 25 brewpubs/breweries then some of our favourite bars, (updated April 2024).
BlackLab Brewhouse & Kitchen, Plaça Pau Vila 1
Open: Mon-Thu 12:30-01, Fri-Sat 11-2:30, Sun 12-1
BlackLab was the 1st modern craft brew pub in Barcelona. Located close to the history of Catalunya museum .. It’s a quite big place with some seats outside when the weather is good It’s basically a brew pub with 10 beers from theirs production and 4/5 guest beers. A good place with good beers! They serve food and the staff are good.
Caravelle, Carrer Pintor Fortuny 31
A very nice brewpub located in the centre of the city. Inside it's small, simply but stylishly decorated and cosy to sit, with very friendly and helpful staff. The brewing equipment is located next door. They have 6 taps serving their own beers, apparently, the coffee is very good here as well?
La Cervesera Artesana, C/ Sant Agustí, 14:
Hours: 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Nice brewpub and relaxing atmosphere early in the evening. About 75 bottles in the menu, from around the world. Also 3 -4 guest taps alsong side 8 of their own beers. We found the American style ales the best nice and hoppy also of note was the Russian Imperial Stout. The staff are very friendly and we even got a VIP brewery tour. Lots of bar seating and a few tables and chairs near the brewery. Good tapas. Ottos Top Tip; If you like Indian food there is a really good resturant next door.
Abirradero, c/ Vila I Vila, 77
Best Place in Barcelona to taste local beers, if you want to taste of Spanish craft beer you should go here, the selection they have is awesome, they have 40 taps of national craft beer, most craft by them. Strange beers like La Encantada will make you feel like in a time travel to the Neolitic Age and you can also speak with some brewers there. A nice meeting point for craft beer fans! If you are hungry, they do nice pairing selections - where beer ingredients are part of their recipes.
VIC Brewery, Carrer de Molí del Llobet 19
Brewery; Tours by Appointment only?
VIC ALE aims to be a leader in the Calatan craft beer world. Beers are brewed using a traditional top fermented high temperature method followed by cask or bottle conditioning. In July 2012 two friends decided it would be fun to brew their own beer. With new brewing kit costing a fortune, the young team looked to the second hand market and after several weeks of intense negotiation a 30 year old, 10 barrel plant was bought in London and shipped over to VIC. With Jordi as resident brewers and Rafael heading up the commercial efforts, Vic Brewery (VB) was born, named after the local city where brewery is located. With kit secured, it was time to find a suitably atmospheric building in which to house it. All manner of buildings were considered and eventually rejected until we were eventually shown an old 18th water mill, El Molí de Llobet, that was being painstakingly restored by its owner. Thanks to the commitment to respect the original look and feel of the mill, these historic and beautiful walls now house the brewery.
Barna Brew, Carrer Parlament 45
A small brewpub that long and narrow with the brew kit to the rear. Inside it's quite simple with "artsy" decor. The tables are quite close together, so it's very cosy. The service is friendly and helpful. In addition to a reasonable choice of beer, they also have great coffee. They have 8 taps with usually 6 of their own beers and 2 guests.
Maresme Brewery Taproom - Craft Beer, C/ de Sepúlveda, 164
Beer fans go here! One of the best actual brewerys in Barcelona. A lot of places call themselves a cervezeria but they just serve a few beers. This place is a taphouse for the actual brewery and they have selections from other local breweries as well. A seriously attractive space, very clean and airy. Only half pints available in terms of small pours. Nice selection of different styles and the beers are excellent. Food is great too! Fun and chill place to spend a few hours.
Brew Pub Le Sec, Margarit,52
Open: lun & jue 18:30-1:00 vie & sab 18:30-2:30 dom 12:00 a 1:00 Mar & Mier Closed
This place has massive potential. Great signage and decor the entryway is beautiful with a door that Duchamp would love. Everything is brick, rock, and reclaimed wood inside. A great beer bar that focuses on quality control and great beers. Besides their own beers they have regional guest beers and a good bottle range. Prices were very fair. Sampler was 6.50 euro. Snacks ranged from 1 - 6 euro.
Cerveceria El Vaso de Oro. c/ Balboa 6
Open daily 09.00 - 00.00.
Nice small brewpub with poor beer selection and without any information about beer (just pale or porter). Located down near the port and towards the northern end. This is a long narrow place with the bar running virtually from one end to the other. There are stools along the bar and the only way to get from one end to the other is to go outside and back in through one of the other doors. Plates of tapas entirely cover the bar. At one end there are 4 tall tables with stools. The barman all wore captains’ epaulettes on their shirts and were'nt very talkative.
La Textil, Carrer de Casp, 33B
Open: Mon-Thurs 13.00 - 16.00 & 19.00 - 00.00 Fri - Sat 13.00 - 01.00 Sun 12.00 - 17.00
La Textil a brew Pub with comfortable and modern decor plus a wide variety of their own beers. The staff and owner are all incredible and really helpful when it comes to explaining the different beers and letting you try a few. The food is great too, with deservedly Michelin star. An amazing vibe. Otto Says: A must if you are a fan of craft beers, particularly a wide variety of choices.
Cerveseria La Més Petita, C/ de la Diputació, 30
If you love/like beer, this is the place to come and sample great beer. Just 8 taps, that are tucked under the staircase! A very small space but its filled with passion. Packed with locals. This is where you pick up the best recommendations and have some epic conversations at the end of the day.
LaGorda Beer Factory, C/ Riego 29.
Dt-Dj: 18:00 - 01:00 Dv.-ds: 18:00 - 02:00 Dg: 19:00 - 00:00
Located just around the corner from HomoSabaris (v below v) and opposite their (HomoSabaris) bottle shop. Interesting long roomed bar with mostly their own beers on tap: Cool Music from the 50s and 60’s over the speakers: not too loud. Service was fine, friendly but without a smile. Beers are average, but not world class. Worth popping in if in the area.
HomoSibaris, Plaça d’Osca 4: Hours: Mon-Thu 17-24, Fri-Sat 17-02, Sun 12-24
Possibly a Brewpub? Although there are no signs of a brew kit. They have 6 taps with a mix of craft brews from Catalonia to Germany, UK, USA also they have 2 British cask beer engines! They are very passionate about beer and it shows. Their service is excellent and they will let you have a little test if you can’t decide what to order. Their tapas is also very tasty. They also have a big bottle selection, including some of their own bottled brews. A small long bar with tables and chairs to the rear, it can get busy especially at weekends. In a nice are set on a small out of the way square. If you are visiting Barcelona, please make the effort to go here (very easy on the metro) because you won’t regret it!
Garage Beer Co, C/ Consell De Cent 261
Open; Mon-Thurs: 17.00-0:00 Fri-Sat: 17:00-2:30 Sun: 18:00-0:00
A Wonderful brewpub, awesome atmosphere and amazing food; close to biercab. A deep space with lots of seating in the back. They are a family friendly place and have a kids area back there. There are 2 or 3 house beers then some nice guest beers from Spain and elsewhere.
Barna Brew Born, Carrer de les Basses de Sant Pere, 10, bis
A sandwiches and craft beer bar. Its a narrow venue with an industrial vibe and a black-and-white wall mural. A very hip and fun craft beer bar with their own brewery offerings. An excellent selection of bottles and cans as well. Amazing vegan/vegetarian menu that meat eaters will still enjoy very much. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Master Brewer and owner Alex is also awesome if you're not sure which beer to try.
Brew Pub Le Sec, Carrer de Margarit, 52
A cool modern brewpub. The brew kit is loacated in the lower area. A cool interior and friendly bar staff. Their own beer, which is very decent, and also gave guest beers are served from a total of 8 taps. A great place that gives a cool vibe to the city.
Garage Beer Co. (Sant Andreu), Sant Adrià, 66
The Brewery / Taproom from Garage. If you visit Barcelona and you have the opportunity to visit them, it is an almost obligatory stop. The facilities are spectacular and the collaborations are sometimes surprising? Inside its quite small and modern similar to BeerCab. The stainless steel brew kit is to the rear. Great friendly staff.
U-Hops, Barcelona
Engorile by U-Hops is a nomadic brewery from Barcelona, which arose from bringing the "craft" brewing world closer to everyone and for everyone. They formed in December 2021.
Fabrica Cerveza Moritz, Ronda de Sant Antoni 39 – 43 : Open all day?
Nice place, modern decor in an old school building. But they only have their own beers, brewed there, unfiltered and unpasteurized, both are mainstream mediocre pale lager types, (That you can get in lots of placed in the city). They place is packed with the "IN" crowd! Good food, but expensive. The brewery is nice and copper upstairs, and spotlessly clean stainless downstairs. Worth a visit and it can only add to Barcelona’s massive beer culture. They also have a shop selling all kinds of beer related stuff.
Damm, Ronda de Ponent, 41
The guided tour of the brewery, is very interesting, it is a very large factory and everything is automated. The guide is very friendly and professional, and explains everything and answers all questions. Estrella Damm, is one of the largest breweries in Spain. They actually have over a dozen beers with all the companies and brands, some of which actually taste pretty nice. The reason to come here is to tick all the beers and it's a convenient location near the airport. Note that a taxi from the airport with the minimum charge is not worth it, take a local bus or walk.
Maestró, Rambla Catalunya, 79
A BrewPub / brasserie located in the center of Barcelona were they serve Good craft beer and tapas besides other dishes, the atmosphere is not very beer. Inside it's very stylish decor and music of 80s usually playing. So if "Tickers" are gonna tick! They have 6 taps with their own brews and they do flights. Recommendable if you want to tick the beers and a simple but quick bite to eat. The staff are friendly and quick.
Cervecería Ogham | Barcelona, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 604
A nice Argentinian beer bar, withgreat service and lots of their own beers on tap. They dont brew here, but in the former Freddo Fox. Two floors with A DJ with good music downstairs in a small night club. In the bar upstairs you can shill with a beer and tapas.
La Masovera, Cervesa Artesana, Tremp, Rambla Dr. Pearson, 29
A small welcoming brewery, very good service, local and quality products, the beer tasting with Joan Martí O la Maite is highly recommended. A good selection of craft beers from different origins.

BAR’S & RESTAURANTS
BierCaB, Muntaner 55, Barcelona, Spain 08011:
Hours: lun - sáb: 12:00 - 0:00
Not only do they have the best craft beer in Barcelona, but they also have the best people working there and great customers! Really great place for the beer lovers. Is certainly the best in Barcelona. Friendly people, nice service, great tapas, nice atmosphere. Great variety of taps and bottles they also have a newly opened shop (November 2014) right next door. Huge choice of good beers on taps (30) and lots of rare bottles. The beer is kept updated via big screens over the bar. A long narrow bar with tall tables and chairs, it gets very busy early doors. Great ceiling made out of wood. I rate this as one of my all time favorite bars.
Tap Room & Craft Beer Blacklab, Carrer de Valencia 202
A great craft beer stop with amazing service. The specialty of this place is their regular activities such as live music or comedy nights. The food is pretty decent but the beer is definitely up to standard.
Kaelderkold, Calle Cardenal Casañas 7
Open: 12PM - 02.30AM
Kaelderkold or Kælderkold, Danish for "cellar cold", is a craft beer pub just off La Rambla in Barcelona. When you enter, the bar looks very small (and thus crowded if there are more than 10 people present) but if you walk past the bar and down a set of stairs, the pub opens up to two larger rooms in the back. First of all, Kælderkold had an impressive bottle beer menu, surely 200+ types, including a full page of sour beers! As for draft beer, Kælderkold lived up to its name with 8 of the 15 beers from Denmark, four of them from Hornbeer alone. All in all a friendly and knowledgeable staff, some inspiring bottle beers and a cosy atmosphere in the back.
Ølgod Barcelona, C/ Hospital, 74
Open: Daily 5pm-2,30am
This multi-tap beer bar with 20+ taps, located a few blocks west of La Rambla, opened up in March 2016 and is owned by the people behind Kælderkold. Ølgod, meaning "beer god" in Danish, is a Norse inspired beer bar with a Viking long ship on the front sign, the beer boards above the bar written in a runic-like Script and offering five Danish beers on tap (only three Spanish). As a gastropub Ølgod they also offer tasty tapas dishes, The atmosphere is cool. All in all, Ølgod is a promising new beer bar which could be improved by offering more Spanish craft beers IMO.
BrewDog Bar Barcelona, Casanova, 69
Open;Sun - Wed 5pm to 12pm; Thurs - 5pm to 2am; Fri - Sat 12pm to 2am
BrewDog is becoming a caricature of itself! The need for never ending growth has resulted in an obvious corporate chain posing as punk when it’s more hipster than anything else. The space itself has a similar feel to their other pubs. If you want a more authentic beer bar experience, seek out Biercab, which is very near this pub or Ale and Hop, in Born. Both of those are run by locals who have presented far superior spaces with better selections, better service and a much more beer oriented place.
Bar Centro, Carrer de Casp, 55
Open: Wed - Mon 13.00-15.30 & 19.00-23.00 Closed: Tues
A medium sized bar and burger place, with 8 taps included nice selection of imports. Limited but well thought selection of bottles. The food is quite good. If nearby worth checking out.
Noumades, C/ de Casp, 55
This craft beer bar is simply exceptional. It is the best place in the city if you are a fan of rock music and craft beer. The owners Monica and Alberto are friendly and knowledgeable, offering personalized recommendations. The selection of beers and wines are amazing. In addition, they make their own beer that fits excellent with the food. A cosy and high-quality place worth visiting.
Barna Brew Born, Carrer de les Basses de Sant Pere, 10, bis,
This place was a big surprise for me. Super atmosphere with great music. Nice selection of beers and some really taste full dishes. All the staff are very friendly and polite. A small bar in the depths of the Born area of Barcelona. A nice ambiance, good location. If it is crowded in the entrance you can check for table at the cosy room in the back.
L´Espumossa Art & Cervesa, Provença , 171
Hours: L:17:00-21:00 Mar-Vie:11:00-14:00 17:00-22
Great little neighbourhood bar/bottle shop. Highly focused on Catalan beers with a smattering of European & American bottles on the shelves/fridge. Small tap selection, but all 3 were fresh. It was as simple as grab a beer from the shelf/fridge, let the owners know so they could bring glasses, drink & repeat...often! Attentive, friendly service, and always with a smile. Another place to definitely visit when in Barcelona.
OKasional Beer, Carrer de Casanova, 11
One of the hidden gems for craft beer lovers, entusiasts, and anyone who enjoys good beer. They keep a huge collection of canned (mostly) and bottled craft beers in coolers. Also, the store offers 3-4 fresh tap beers you can enjoy surrounded by a beer genius loci.
CatBar, Carrer de la Mercè, 29
Hours: 18:00 to 01:30, Closed Sunday
Small local bar, relatively easy to find, interesting decor, friendly staff, and owner whose English is just about legible. Good tap selection, between Catalan/Spanish. Single beer fridge is full of Catalan/Spanish brews, and a good selection to choose from. Pricing is good, and beer is fresh. Didn’t try the food, but what I saw looked good; like the vegan concept. It’s an oasis in the center of town.
La Cerveteca, C/Gignàs 25;
Hours: Mon-Thu 16- 22:00 Fri-Sun 13-23
Nice spot in the gothic quarter. They play good music. Staff are generally friendly but not always very attentive. Inside, you can either stand at one of the many barrells they have or sit at the big table in the back. Prices are okay considering the location; close to the old port, this place sees many tourists.
Bodega Fermín : Craft Beer & Tapas, Carrer Sant Carles, 18
Open: Monday 10am to 24pm Tuesday closed Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 24pm Friday and Saturday 10am to 01am Sunday 10am to 24pm
Small craft bar off the main plaza in Barcelona. Eight taps sporting a good selection of local Catalan breweries as well as international brands. As it is a bodega they also sell wine by the bottle and from barrels as well. Nice outdoor patio seating and good service.
La Bona Pinta, C/ Diputació 433
Hours: 11:00 to 14:00 - 17:30 to 02:00
A cosy pub with a great selection of beers, especially in bottled form. Good beer place near to Monumental Metro station. The place is small but the tables are placed very well. They have 5 taps and a very good selection of beers, From local beers to American beers including the Belgian classics and the crafts from Europe. Also works as a bottle shop.
2D2Dspuma, Carrer de la Manigua 8
Hours: Mon-Thu: 18-23.3, Fri-Sat: 18-2, Sun - closed.
A marvelous selection of beer. One of the biggest in the city, and comfortably far from all tourist centers, which is reflected in the prices. Micros from all over Spain are available, plus a wide variety of beers from all over the world. Not much going for ambiance; apart from the beer, the bar is quite typically Catalan, minus the TV (always a plus). The Staff are knowledgeable and efficient. Food is just plain good, from the bravas to the hamburgers. When it’s not too crowded you might get yourself a free montadito with your beer?
They also have a bottle shop;
2D2Dspuma Tienda, Carrer de la Manigua 4-6; Hours: Mon-Sat 11-14:30, 18-21:30
Racó d'en Cesc, Carrer de la Diputació, 201
Open: Mon - Sat 13.00-15.30 & 20.00=23.30
A family-owned restaurant with a wine cellar and 5 private dining rooms, serving modern Catalan cuisine, but always with subtle touches of innovation. They also have menus with beer pairings and have a sommelier specializing in beers. The bottle selection is quite good, some imports including Utopias (420 EUR, bit crazy) and some lambic. Go on treat yourself😊
Lambicus Bar, Carrer de Tamarit, 107
The Lambicus Bar is a fantastic, quaint beer bar with a rotating tap for draft beers, and page after page of wonderful Lambic beers to choose from. They have created a cosy atmosphere for good conversation and great company.
Mosquit, C/ dels Carders, 46
Open: Mon - Thurs 13.00-17.00 & 19.00-23.00 Fri - Sun 13.00-00.00
A small and very busy tapas bar just a few minutes walk from the Arc de Triomf. Chinese-esque interior, with all the tables were very close together. The food is Asian-inspired "street food" small plates, dumplings, noodles etc. A small selection of local beers on tap and a fair selection of bottles though with no real surprises. A lot of the standard Belgian stuff here with German beers The service is friendly if a tad rushed?
Cervecería Jazz, Margarit,43
Hours: Tues - Sat 19.00 - 00.00
A great spot, playing great jazz music located in the Poble Sec area.. A cool atmosphere and artistic vibe lots of exposed brick and stone, paintings on the ceiling, basically lots of nooks and crannies where there are interesting visuals even though the place is small. Tap selection is quite interesting too, 6 local microbrews, plus the usual imports. I’d come back here anytime for the overall quality of the experience.
Cerveseria El Tap, Carrer de Constança, 8
Open: 12:30–17.00 & 18.00-00.00
A hidden gem this local neighbourhood gastro-bar is located out of the main tourist attractions, hidden away two blocks off Avinguda Diagonal. This medium sized bar has a nice configuration of bar, central shared table, 6 wooden tables and chairs, white and mirror walls and a small terrace. 12 beers on tap. Lots of variation in styles and origin. Mostly local and Spanish breweries and IPAs. There are also wines and other beverages. Friendly staff. Food seems good. Well worth a visit if you’re in the neighbourhood.
Bodega Fermín, C. de Sant Carles, 18
A tiny but beautiful little bar very close to the beach. Still one of the few places that keeps the spirit of Barceloneta. Old “bodega” owned by locals, they produce their own vermouth, white and black, and also brew their own beer. They have a limited but well selected dishes and tapas. To recommend, aubergines, artichokes and chistorra. Be patience for sitting at the terrace, it is usually full. Great and professional service. This is the place you want to go for a local, friendly atmosphere.
El Drapaire de la Cervesa Artesana, Carrer de les Sitges, 11
Open: Mon - Sat 18.00 - 00.00
A gem of a pub, located at Carrer de les Sitges, crossing Carrer Tallers, where the 2 best music stores specialising in Metal in Barcelona, Revolver Records and Pentragram Music Store, and right next to L'Ovella Negra, which without being in the craft wave is still a place of worship, a must if you are in the area, an authentic tavern of those that no longer remain. Well, right in the middle is El Drapaire de la Cervesa Artesana, a most welcoming place: an old house that maintains its original pavement, its cobblestones, its different levels, its fireplace and all the vintage furniture: amazing. As for beers, there are 13 taps, and a couple of fridges full of beers. Cold foods and snacks. Nice ambiance and personnel. A good place to spend some hours.

Viena Rambles Rambla dels Estudis 115
Open daily from 09.00.-23.30 to 01.00.
Located half way up Las Ramblas on the left hand side. (facing inland). Part of a chain of cafes serving pre-cooked Austrian style fast-food. Inside the central bar is u-shaped with high stools all around it and the odd tall table and stools by the walls. The floor was tiled & there were ornate wall tiles around the edge of the bar. The ceiling was very unusual with paintings on it surrounded by wooden panelling. There is a balcony housing a grand piano overlooking the bar as you go to the toilets. The waiters were dressed in traditional Austrian costumes and the beer is served in stiens Austrian Style. The beer was reasonably priced.
Glaciar Bar, Plaça Reial,
Open; Mon - Fri :00 - , Sat 10:00 –
Located in the corner of a square off the right hand side off Las Ramblas. There are 2 inside drinking areas one rather small, and the other round the corner much larger with many tables. There are also tables and chairs outside in the square for use in warmer weather. The bottled beer list is fairly extensive with about 40 beers on the list. Service was very efficient.
Il Birrino. Carrer d'Alí Bei, 123
Open: Daily 12.00-16.00 then Thurs - Sat 19.30-23.00
A cosy little place on the outside area of BCN, close by the museum of music. The place itself is very small with 4 to 6 tables, They have 4 beer taps and a few cans. A small but very well-thought menu! Home-made great pasta. The service is friendly.
Birrasterium, Carrer de Guitard, 35
Open: Mon - Sat 17.300 - 22.00
Get ready for a beer tour around Catalunya's best breweries with Pepe, Birrasterium owner and Beer Connoisseur. A great selection of beers and an even better service! An authentic little gem full of real quality beer in a city already crowded with too many "Authentic Beer Places" that simply sell Punk IPA! This place is located just outside the city center. On the one side a shop with beers on shelves that look fancy because of the varying height at which the shelves hang. On the other side a small nicely finished bar. The interior is really nice.
Bar Bodega Bartoli, Vallespir. 41
Opening hours: Mon - Fri :00 - , Sat 10:00 –
Quite a way from most of the other bars, this place is an outlet for beers from the local micro-brewery Glops. There were two available for us to try. Glops Fosca de Blat 4.5% was a cloudy, amber beer with a fruity taste. The Glops Fumada 5.1% was much paler and, as the name suggests, rather smoky in taste. Worth the walk out to for these rare beers.
La Rovira, Carrer de Rabassa, 23
Open:Daily 09.00 - 00.00
An old style, vintage/recycle cosy bar with 15 beers on tap, they have their own house beer, La Rovira IPA, brewed at Cervesa Guineu. Preserving the old bar style along with mixed style recycled and casual wood tables and chairs. Funny lightning appliances. Vermouth and food available as well. The place has a very local feel to it, same like neighbourhood. Seems to be visited by people who are not that beer oriented as well as the beer geeks. Service was not geeky, but very helpful and friendly. Otto says; good beer at great prices, Wi-Fi, calm environment, overall, really recommended.
Now for a few of the better bottle shops/ bars;
Quilez, Rambla de Catalunya 63, cantonada Aragó
Another must visit place in Barcelona. A cozy and old-fashioned gourmet shop with a rather good selection of Catalonian beers. Many from Ca L’Arenys Guineu, Fortiverd, La Gardenia, Montseny, Cerberus and many more. it’s a medium sized deli food shop with hundreds of mouth watering products up to the ceiling, packed in two rooms; you can’t leave the shop without buying some! They have a good selection of wines A deep store with loads of things on the walls. Beer selection is at the very end. Registration of what you’re buying takes places in the area you find what you want, payment is done at the door presenting your bill. Packed with staff.
Cerveseria d'Or, Carrer del Consell de Cent 339, 08007 Barcelona.
A tapas bar on the corner of Rambla de Catalunya. As well as serving a decent range on draught, it also has a decent selection of bottled beers. We tried a couple from a small Spanish brewery located just south of Barcelona. Artisanale de Tarragona Cap D'ona 6.5% (Amber, fruity & dry). This beer won the Gold Award 2009 at the National Concours. Artisananle de Tarragona Rosita 5.5%. Unfortunately they were served in Furstenberg Pils glasses. To finish off we tried Cervesa del Montseny Malta 5.1%. This was a golden beer, which is unpasteurised and unfiltered.

A friendly and well-stocked beer store in a fairly busy area. The selection of Spanish and Catalan beers is very impressive and there is more than enough here to keep tickers busy for a long time. Besides having everything needed for home brewing and beer collectors corner.

Converted from an old nineteenth century sweet shop, this place sells Spanish brewery Mahou beers both on draught and in bottles. It was sympathetically refurbished in the 1980's and retains lots on the original fittings although they are now filled with bottles of alcohol rather than jars of sweets.

A great place to enjoy a good old Belgian beer. Specialising in Belgian beers with huge selection and good prices. Even as a Belgian, you can discover some fantastic beers that are quite rare! You also get a very good description of the different beers. These guys really know what they are talking about. You can even get some local Catalan beers. A must do beer stop on a trip to Barcelona, you won’t regret it?

Fantastic beer selection and staff was very knowledgeable. Spanish micros I haven’t tried. They have 3 beers on tap and also sell some home brew supplies.
