While Poznań is not often the first city on travelling itineraries, it will prove a pleasant surprise to any who end up here. Poznań known also by other historical names, is a city on the Warta river in west-central Poland, the region called Wielkopolska. Crowded with churches, cobblestones and colourful burgher houses, Poznań's Old Town is a collage of architectural styles stuffed with soaring historical monuments, esoteric museums, art galleries and theatres, and more than its fair share of restaurants, bars and cafes. A major cultural and economic centre, Poznań has earned an international reputation as a city of trade fairs, its success stemming partly from its convenient location as a mid-way point on the road from Paris to Moscow.
Anyway that’s enough of scene setting, I’m rambling on again! If your are planning a vacation to Poznań here are a few craft beer bars to make it even better; Starting with the 5 breweries (October 2025)
Lech, ul. Szwajcarska 11, Poznan.
Kompania Piwowarska/LECH brewery is opened for tours (in different languages). It’s interesting to see how beer is packed. The tout takes about 40 minutes then you finish in the bar where you get a free pint each.
Cost of the tour is great, approximately £4 each which includes your free pint! In the bar the cost of a pint in this bar is just over £1. Great trip worth going! There is great pub in brewery where serving beers such as LECH, TYSKIE, DOG IN THE FOG, REDD’S, ZUBR etc... The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and willing to engage in casual talk about their work.
Ułan Browar, ul. Wyspiańskiego 26
Open: 1pm - midnight daily
A huge modern brewpub located on the other side of the station from the center. It’s an impressive place compared to many in the city center. They have five of their own beers on tap, flights of 3 available.
Brovaria, Stary Rynek 73/74, Poznan.
Superb brewpub that has overnight accommodation as well. Outside there is a patio for drinking and eating overlooking the beautiful Stary Rynek. Inside there is a bar but the room to head for is the restaurant, normally open late afternoon/early evening, this is where the beers are brewed. The beers are average, but try the pilsner, it’s fantastic as is the American IPA. Definitely check this place out in such an awesome Polish town.
Browar Wąsowo, Poznańska 2, 64-314 Wąsowo
A bit outside Poznan but well worth finding. A very good brewery in magnificent 150 year old farm buildings. The atmosphere is incredible. Go, drink and watch them brew beer.
Dom Piwa, ul. Mokra 2, Poznan.
A very nice multi-tap with craft beer served from 12 taps and at least 100 bottle beers available. The bar it’s self is all painted a clinical white, with very little adornment on the walls, also all the furniture is white. There are some hop vines around the top of the walls. Very often new micro breweries have their beers premiere at Dom Piwa. A very pleasant atmosphere like at home, without loud music, were you can talk easily without the need to shout. Defiantly a must do pub.
Lot Chmiela, Żydowska 4
Open: Sun-Wed 16-2, Thu 15-2, Fri-Sat 15-3
Located a couple blocks from the central square. This is a cosy bar with a small interior and small patio out front. It can get quite busy on a Saturday night. They have 10 taps, with a pretty solid selection of all-Polish craft - a few bottles too. Service is friendly and English-speaking. Worth a look when near the square.
Wściekły Chmiel, Żydowska 10
A super cool place small and cosy, a good location in the center of old city. Interesting interior with several hidden rooms. A selection of around 18 mostly local craft beer taps and a bunch of bottles. Friendly and helpful service and average prices for the area.
Castacraftowe, Półwiejska 6
Beer for every taste you can drink it on-site or take it to go. Choose from 0.5- or 1-liter mugs. The snacks are varied, fresh, and delicious. The service is top-notch, the staff are always smiling and happy to advise you on your choice. There's also a small terrace.
Piwna Stopa Craft Beer Pub, Szewska 7, Poznan.
A great little Craft beer pub on two levels, tastefully decorated with lots of pictures/photos on the walls and an upright piano to the rear. Also for the warmer days there is a beer garden. With over 200 bottles and 12 drafts beers this is one of the best bars in town. The staff provide very good service. They show live sport and have live music..
Ministerstwo Browaru Pub, Ratajczaka 34, Poznan.
Hours: 4:00 pm - 2:00 am
Located just next door to the bottle store by the same name, in the busy centre of Poznań. This rather a small but cosy pub, with two room with long tables and wooden benches and a rather small bar. The staff are knowledgeable and very friendly, and they are willing to give samples or sell them for a token, symbolic change. The selection is quite impressive. They have 10 taps with some good Polish ales, alongside some Belgian and American brews, and the number of bottles exceeds 100. Overall a great little bar.
Ministerstwo Browaru - Wroniecka 16
Open: Mon-Tue 16-24, Wed-Fri 16-2, Sat 14-2, Sun 14-24
A modern looking multi-tap pub just north of main square. Relaxed atmosphere. Decent taplist, flights of 6 x 150mL pours available for 29 PLN, which was nice. Friendly, laid-back service and a pleasant, small interior makes for a decent stop. Worth a visit.
BRO. Food. Beer. Chill. Mickiewicza 27/L3
Hidden away but close to Most Teatralny, it's a cosy cellar bar with a good range of craft beer on tap in a wide range of styles. The barman is really sociable and friendly, and just amazing food, Italian style, which is not really typical for bars, an all round win.
Cofernik Kawiarnia, Galileusza 8, Poznan.
Hours: 10am - 8pm
A great little Restaurant. That does home made food and deserts to die for. A great selection of hard to find Polish bottled beers, backed up with a small but solid tap list. Also the have live acoustic/folk music. A little gem of a place well worth chilling out with a beer and a desert for an hour or so while the world goes by.
Piwa Świata, ul. Głogowska 115, Poznan.
Hours: 7:30-20:45
Definitely the best-stocked specialised beer bottle shop in Poznan, usually having around 1000 bottles in stock. The selection is impressive, spanning most European countries as well as some more distant places, but the lion’s share of it is from Poland, Germany and Belgium. Very cheerful staff, excellent prices. Lovely place.
NaPiwek PUB, Wodna 12
A great Turkish café, with a cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, and very tasty doner. The seating plan is more aligned towards larger groups, so there isn't much seating for 1-2 people. They offer a variety of board and card games, and play football matches on a large TV. They specialise in beer, all of which is craft and quite pricey. The overall aesthetic is pretty simple, but they have interesting prints hung on the walls.
Stary Browar, Półwiejska 42
The Old Brewery is a shopping mall that is preserving the original architecture and style and it is a popular attraction in Poznan. A shopping, Arts and Business Centre "Stary Browar" is the centre of commerce and art, built in November 2003. The space combines a wide range of shopping, art, entertainment, and restaurants. The place is clean and spacious, making it possible to spend the whole day there. It’s a great spot for both locals and tourists. The building itself is beautiful, featuring a mix of industrial architecture and modern design.
I hope you found my guide to the brewpubs and bars in Poznań useful? Now you just need to get yourself out there and start the beer adventure for yourself! Go grab a locally brewed pint (or 2) and support your local pub's and brewers! Na zdrowie. Vivat, Otto & The Little’un

R.I.P.
Setka Pub, sw. Marcin 8, Poznan.
Probably the best bar in Poznan. Full of polish microbrews served from 13 taps and 3 pumps and a huge bottle selection as well. Competent, helpful and nice staff. Good music, although sometimes a bit too loud ;). Snacks are good although basic. I definitely recommend this great pub! A must do bar.
Chmielnik, ul. Zydowska 27, Poznan.
Located just the Old Market, the place is a modern bar, catering for a beer-conscious clientele interested in Polish beer, micro and macro alike. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they are willing to do samples. The selection is truly impressive for a bar specialising in beer from Poland alone. Not very expensive.
Basilium, Wozna 21, Poznan.
A nice small cosy place right next to the historical centre. Friendly, young, English-speaking staff. Good selection of local beers served from 4 taps. But also over 150 bottles of only Polish craft beers. Free wifi. Great prices and a must do place in this town.
Amore Del Tropico, Ratajczaka 26/2, Poznan.
A great craft beer / music bar. They have a range of beers from all over Europe and the service is good. It may be a bit noisy later when the bands are on, but well worth a visit. I think it only opens at 5pm?
KRIEK Belgian Pub & Cafe, ul. Wodna 23, Poznan.
If you fancy a change? This bar has the best selection of Belgium beers in Poznan. Done out in the traditional Belgian style with a great atmosphere and friendly service.
Centrala Piwna, Mickiewicza 33, Poznan.
A small shop located in one of the quiet backstreets, just off the busy centre of Poznań, quite neat the main station and MTP. The store offers an impressive selection of bottles about 800+. Service is good and friendly. A nice place to visit, prices are great. They also offer tapped beer poured to bottles you bring yourself. If you want quality beer this is the place to go.
Fermentownia, Kwiatowa 2/1a
A smallish modern cellar bar with a surprisingly great selection of taps. Not the the most beautiful of places but the 22 beer taps and great friendly service make up for it. There’s no flights available but that’s well made up for with the openness of samples. They are quite happy for you to try samples of the beers. Well worth a stop.
