Kuressaare is the westernmost town in Estonia, known for its medieval episcopal castle and thriving tourism industry, boosted by the arrival of cruise tourists via the Saaremaa Harbour. The town is served by Kuressaare Airport, located 3 km from the town.
Have fun and learn new things in the medieval activity centre. Feel like a town lord in the town hall or the episcopal castle. Kuursaal with the park is the most popular place in the summer. Summer music is played on Sunday evenings in the summer on the band stand. The expositions at the Alternative History Musesum of Thule Koda introduce the historical role of Saaremaa as an ultima Thule. The WOW Leisure Centre is a great place to spend meaningful time with family and friends and experience something new. Kuressaare has something to offer everyone in every season. Updated July 2022

A big outdoor place in the centre, a great vibe! The place is at its Best in the summer, as most of the seats are outside, but there is also a warm lounge inside. Good friendly services. Good prices, taps limited to about 5-6, some craft and macro in the fridge. Great food set up, absolutely delicious pizza!
Saaremaa Veski, Pärna 19
Open: Tues - Sat 12.00 - 21.00
The Windmill restaurant is definitely a must-see if you are on Saaremaa. Try climbing up to the top of the windmill! It has a good range of beers from all the island breweries and the food is excellent, with local traditional dishes redesigned and upgraded to fit modern trends. The interior is amazing and the outdoor projection on the mill is cool. This place has free parking and is very family friendly with both indoor and outdoor children playgrounds, so kids won’t get bored. The restaurant is actually in the old windmill and combines history with modern luxury, very unusual and interesting. Friendly and caring staff. Otto says; A must visit in the city😃
Kohvik Retro, Lossi 5
Open: Open: Daily 12.00 - 21.00 maybe even later?
Located on the main street of the Kuressaare. Hard to miss, although sign ain’t big but the Vibe is and this should get your attention! The interior is retro and is moderately full of things, what every household had in Soviet Estonia? A very easy relaxed cafe feel too it, but with slightly subdued lighting to make it even mellow. The double-fridge at the end has plenty of interesting beers. The staff are full on professionals that know the beers and local market. Don’t be afraid to ask recommendations. Otto says; sit in the courtyard terrace is a nice and cosy place to enjoy both the morning sun and the evening twilight, and enjoy a selection of Estonian handcrafted beers. 😷
Mönus Villem, Tallinna 63
Open: Daily 11.00 - 22.00
This is a fairly large, German style pub with lots of dark wood.located about 1 km north east of old town Kuressaare. That serves beer from 5 taps of beer but mostly Belgians and macros, so not very interesting. Beer prices are not cheap. Food was not so expensive and they were tasty in general, but portions were way too big (for a big eater maybe not).

A small bar near the castle with a food menu too. The beer selection is mainly Saku but there are a couple of Pöide bottled beers. Excellent garlic bread, but not so much the beer!
